I captured two Vaegir nobles, one from the fight that started the siege, and one after the siege who came to get the castle back.

I’m not sure if he was right for the job, but he was good in a fight and causing problems with the rest of the party anyway. My army was holding position and had their shields up, so all the enemy’s archers focused on them and nothing happened. Units won’t leave the castle during a siege, so I just stood there headshotting everything. I exploited the AI pretty bad, which I’m learning is how you win the game. I rerolled as a Horse Archer, mostly ran Guild Master quests to get money and an army, capped on companions, and then attacked the most remote castle I could find (a Vaegir one).
